Tromsø arctic region

The Norwegian Arctic at 69° north latitude has nothing to do with pack ice and dangerous expeditions. What you’ll find here is a fascinating, vibrant, and ever-changing natural landscape of majestic mountains, clear fjords, picturesque islands, and wild coastlines. A region that holds its own magic in every season—and with the cosmopolitan city of Tromsø, a place that serves as a wide-open gate to the Arctic, not just during the Northern Lights season.

Connected to 50 european airports

The unspoiled Arctic wilderness of the Troms region offers visitors a rare advantage: it’s exceptionally easy to reach. That’s because Tromsø-Langnes (TOS) is the most important international air travel hub in Northern Norway—with direct flights, seasonally, to major cities such as London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Milan, Madrid, and Vienna. Distant Arctic destinations such as Spitsbergen, the Lofoten Islands, the North Cape, and Vesterålen are also accessible by air from here.

Welcome to Davvi Ridge

It takes just an hour’s drive from the bustling tourist hot spot of Tromsø to the clear silence of Ullsfjord—and the journey itself is an experience. It begins on the shores of Ramfjord, crosses the Breivikeidet glacial valley—flanked by mountains a thousand meters high—passes the mirror-smooth mountain lake Nakkevatnet, and winds along Ullsfjord toward the snow-capped panorama of the Lyngen Alps, which soar up to 1,800 meters on the opposite shore. You've arrived: at Davvi Ridge.
